Dear Cal U Writers,
Welcome to the Cal U Writing Center.
The Writing Center exists to help you become better writers, and we work hard to help you achieve that goal. While our skilled staff of undergraduate writing consultants does not provide a proofreading or editorial service, we do talk with our student writers, ask questions, listen, and offer suggestions as you consider the revisions and edits that will improve your writing.
As you work through this academic year–whether you’re a senior who’s an experienced writer or a first-year student who’s facing new challenges–you should expect to encounter writing assignments that will require you to seek assistance. We’re here to help you become a better writer now, as you complete your coursework at Cal U, and we believe your work in the CUWC will benefit you later, too, as you enter into your professional careers and engage as productive citizens.
We invite writers at every stage of their writing careers to join us in the work of developing the skills that will allow them to craft their words with style and substance. The services of the Cal U Writing Center are free to students, faculty, and all members of our university, and we are now open for the Fall 2018 semester. Please register for a Cal U Writing Center account and schedule an appointment at calu.mywconline.com.
